Broken Bones

On November 13th Carson and Bailey were outside helping dad in the yard. I was down at my sister Katie's house taking engagement pictures of her and Jesse. On my way home Ryan called me and said that Carson had fallen off the trampoline and hurt his arm. Now when we say fallen, Bailey actually ran into him which made him tumble off of the trampoline. He said he couldn't tell if it was serious because Carson wouldn't calm down enough for him to really check it out. So when I got home Carson had fallen asleep on the couch, so when he woke up his arm was already swelling and I felt like we should take him to urgent care. They took x-rays and said that it didn't look broken, but it is really hard to see a break in the elbow. They told us we should take him to his primary doctor and have it looked at. At this point they put it in a sling, which Carson hated and we were on our way. So on Monday we made an appointment and my doctor sent us to an orthopedic to have it looked at again. So a few days later we saw the orthopedic and he looked at the x-rays that they had taken at urgent care and said they same thing, that it didn't look broken, but it is really hard to tell in children. So he wrapped his arm up in a soft cast and said we should come back in two weeks for more x-rays just to make sure.

Here he is in his soft cast.

We went back a few weeks later and they did another x-ray on his elbow. Turns out it is broken, not bad, just a crack in his elbow, but he will be in the cast until December 29th! At least it is still just the soft cast so we can take it on and off for bath time! So convenient!!
