New Port Vacation

We went to Newport Beach with Ryan's parents for vacation this summer. We went the end of July and had a GREAT time!! Here are some pictures from our trip!!

We took a little boat ride around the harbor.

Love his eyes!

I have to explain the picture below...
Bailey has a very hard time sleeping anywhere but her room. She does not sleep well when other people are in the room, she is a VERY light sleeper, and she does not like to cuddle when she is falling asleep. So we had a few problems trying to get her to sleep because we were all in the same room. One night we decided to just put her in the room and let her fall asleep on her own. She was not a happy camper. She was screaming for a good 25 minutes before she finally stopped. When I went in to check on her, this is how I found her! Too funny!!

I love vacation!!!

Surprise!!

On July 15th my mother in law turned 50. So we decided we should throw her a party!! Since we were going to ALL be in Newport at the end of July we thought that would be a perfect time! We got down to Newport on Sunday and had the party on Monday night (the 26th). So Ryan's dad took his mom out so we could set up the room for the party! We had this cake made for her, that Ryan's Aunt Sharon brought down!! (thanks Sharon)

All of the kids thought of 50 reasons we loved Maxine and we hung them on the wall.

Whitney and I went a little crazy with the Cricut!! :)

But it was a success...she was definitely surprised!!

We had it catered by Baja Fresh...YUM!!

The kids present to mom was a beach cruiser with a cute little basket on the front!
(A special thanks to my parents who brought the bike down for us!)

We were given a list by Ryan's dad on who call for the party, and we only had one person say that they couldn't make it! That just shows how loved Maxine is!!
Here is a picture of mom with a few of her sisters...Sharon, Kelly, Kathy and Maxine

Blowing out the 50 candles!!

Happy Birthday Mom! We LOVE you!!

27

On July 9th Ryan turned 27! We are only a month apart so I love to feel young for at least a month!! That day the kids and I surprised Ryan at work with lunch, balloons and some cupcakes! Carson was very excited!

I think Bailey enjoyed the cupcakes more than anyone!!

That night we went to Tio's. It is this really good Mexican restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga. We went with Ryan's Dad, Aunt Whitney and Uncle Logan. It was really good. Ryan got a shirt and a gift card to In-N-Out from his family.

After dinner Ryan and I went to go see a movie, while the kids had a sleepover with Aunt Whitney! (thanks again Whit!!)

Happy Birthday Ryan!! We love you so much! You are a great husband and father! I am so glad you picked me!! Hope you had a great day!!

Swim Lessons

On July 7th we took the kids over to get swim lessons from my sister Missy. She became a certified swim instructor this summer. There isn't much she could teach them because of their age, so they worked on the basics. First she was trying to get them to float on their backs in the water. As you can tell Carson was not loving it at first...(it looks like Missy is choking him in this picture! :))

But he got more comfortable and did pretty good after that!

Morgan was a champ!! She was so calm and loved to float on her back!

Then they worked on kicking.

Missy was great with them in the water. She said that next summer is when they will really learn how to swim on their own, so that will be fun!!
Bailey just enjoyed watching and playing on the step!

Then all the kids rested in the hammock. They were so funny!
Thanks for all your help Missy...you are the best!!

Celebrating July 4th

July 4th is always a lot of fun...even when it falls on a Sunday! We had just gotten back from our trip to Arizona the night before so we went and had dinner with Ryan's family, and then we headed down to the Horine's house to watch the fireworks. Before we left we took a few pictures of the kids!

Here we are waiting for the show to start!! Bailey was watching Dora on Ryan's phone so she would not look up for a picture!

During most of the fireworks show this is what Carson looked like...

Although you can't tell, this was an excited scream!!

Bailey also loved the fireworks!!!
(I love that cheesy grin she always does!)

Pointing out the fireworks for Dad!!

Trip to Arizona

At the End of June we went to Arizona for Brock and Sarah's second wedding reception. I didn't take my camera to the reception, but I got a lot of pictures of us in the car on the way down. The kids and I drove down with Grammy Zylstra, Aunt Whitney, and Aunt Maddy. We were in pretty silly moods on the way down. Before we left Grammy got a few presents for the kids. One of them was a Buzz book that included this wrist band that made noise...

Obviously Carson LOVED it! And Bailey really enjoyed feeding her baby!

We had a lot of snacks in the car and one of those snacks were Starbursts. We all decided to make different things out of the Starbursts.
Whitney made a hamburger...
I made a flower....

and Maddy made a drink...

and Carson was happy to eat them all for us!!

We had a few potty breaks along the way and on one occasion as I was getting out to use the restroom I asked Carson if he needed to go and he told me he didn't. I asked if he was sure because we weren't going to stop again, and he again said no. So we all went to the bathroom and as we were getting back on the freeway, Carson told me he had to go to potty. Are you kidding me??? I was pretty sure we would have an accident if we made him wait for the next restroom and lets get real, none of us wanted to stop again. So....desperate times call for desperate measures!!
The kids did really good on the trip down, we even had Bailey laughing pretty hard a few times!!

Well again I was lame and forgot my camera at the hotel during the reception! But it was really nice, and the food was SO SO GOOD!!!
Since we were down in Arizona we thought we would spend some time with Chad, Laura, Lilly and Jensen!! My kids had so much fun!! We went swimming with them on Friday night and then my sweet brother and my wonderful sister-in-law let my kids have a sleepover at their house. The kids loved it and lets face it...we were pretty excited too! The next morning we went to get the kids and they all played in Chad and Laura's backyard for a little bit before we headed home. Carson and Lilly love playing together and are really sweet to watch. And Bailey just tries to be a part of it all! Thanks again Chad and Laura you guys are the best!

What a great trip!!
